In 2012, North Carolina hosted the Southeast Winter Games bringing together over 50 athletes from across the state and from Alabama, Florida and Georgia to compete in Figure and Speed skating. It is now time for Special Olympics Georgia to host this southeast region competition for the next two years (2013 and 2014). Athletes from North Carolina will travel to Georgia to compete.
