Sports Offered

Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC) offers sports training and competition in 19 Olympic-type sports.  Sports training occurs in SONC almost every day of the year! The complete listing of sports can be found to the left.  Click on any sport to see everything about it from which events are offered to rules to the pertinent registration forms.Visit the page for your local program (county) to see if a particular sport is offered in your community.  The sports offered do vary by local program.

If you do not have an intellectual disability but are interested in competing alongside your friend, sibling, etc. who does qualify for Special Olympics, you can through Unified Sports!

In addition to sports training and competitions happening every day at the local program level, SONC athletes have the opportunity to compete in events at the state, national and even international level!
