After world-champion triathlete Mike Pigg conducted a clinic in 1990, cycling quickly became the foundation event for an endurance sport program. Competition was first offered at the 1991 Fall Games in Raleigh, and continues to be a part of the Fall Tournament.

Events OfferedSONC offers eight different cycling events, offering something for every ability level. Events range from a 500 meter time trial to a 40 kilometer road race.
Competition OpportunitiesTwo qualifiers are offered in September at one central location where athletes particpate in either a time trial or road race, distances dependent on their category. SONC Fall Tournament is held in High Point the first weekend of November. |
