World's Largest Truck Convoy
for Special Olympics

The World's Largest Truck Convoy is a celebration of the trucking industry and their unwavering support of Special Olympics. It is a unique one-day celebration in which local law enforcement officers escort a convoy of trucks through cities and towns in 38 US states and Canadian provinces to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes.

To Participate in the Convoy a $100 donation per truck is required.

All participants in the convoy will receive a 2009 World's Largest Truck Convoy T-shirt, complimentary lunch and a Truck Convoy goodie bag.

Join the Open Road Route
Any drivers that cannnot join the actual route but would like to particpate can donate $75 and receive a goodie bag in the mail.

Be the LEAD Truck!
Individual drivers are encouraged to raise funds to bid for the honor of being the Lead Truck. Visit www.firstgiving.com/sonc to create a personal World's Largest Truck Convoy fundraising Web page. All donations earned qualify drivers for incentive prizes as well as honor of lead truck. Drivers raising $250 + earn a Truck Convoy mug; $1000+ earns drivers a 1/64 scale Replica Truck Convoy big rig truck.

Special Olympics athletes, families and friends will be on hand at both locations to meet and cheer on participants.

Types of Vehicles Required:
All trucks must be of 10-GVW or larger. Semi-trucks, truck/trailer combinations, large trucks, low-boys, dump trucks, flat beds, buses, large tow trucks, large box trucks, etc. are all eligible. No hazardous materials or trucks with alcohol or tobacco names or logos are permitted.

8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Registration
11 a.m. - 12 p.m. World's Largest Truck Convoy
12 p.m. Lunch, prizes and more

Convoy Routes
Charlotte - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, 707 Pavilion Blvd
- Start out going NORTH on Pavilion Blvd toward US-29S
- Turn LEFT onto US 29S. Proceed to I-485 South
- Turn LEFT onto I-485 South
- Drive to Exit 51- Hwy 74 Independence Blvd.
- Cross the bridge and return to I-485 North
- Take the US-29 exit -- Exit 32
- Turn LEFT onto US-29N/N Tryon Street
- Turn RIGHT onto Pavilion Blvd.
- End at Verizon Wireles Amphitheater

Raleigh - Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek, 3801 Rock Quarry Road
- A 26 mile loop around the 440 Beltline going west from Walnut Creek
- The route will be out of Time Warner Pavilion at Walnut Creek , left onto Rock Quarry Rd.
- Right onto Jones Sausage Rd
- Right onto 40W
- Travel to 40/440W, bear right onto 440 around Raleigh clockwise
- Continue on the Beltline and return to 40E
- Take a left onto Jones Sausage, left onto Rock Quarry and right into the TWC Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek
