Special Olympics North Carolina: Statewide Games

Special Olympics North Carolina offers year-round training and athletic competition in 20 Olympic-type sports. Competitions begin at the local level and select athletes advance to the state-level in each sport. Eligible participants may begin competing in Special Olympics at age 8. Special Olympics is free of charge to all participants!

Special Olympics North Carolina offers six annual state-level events:

SONC Winter Games-Alpine Skiing
Alpine skiing

SONC Winter Games -Ice Skating
Figure skating, speed skating

SONC Basketball & Cheerleading Tournament

Basketball and cheerleading

SONC Summer Games
Aquatics, athletics, gymnastics, powerlifting, softball and volleyball

SONC Midsummer Tournament
Bowling, equestrian, floor hockey and tennis

SONC Fall Games
Bocce, cycling, golf, roller skating and soccer
