Torch Run Relay

Law enforcement and corrections officers in the far east and far west of North Carolina launch the Torch Run Final Leg, a 20-day torch relay throughout the state that covers 2,000 miles. The Special Olympics Flame of Hope is carried by officers representing more than 200 agencies across the state.  The Torch Run culminates with the lighting of the cauldron to signify the official opening of Special Olympics North Carolina Summer Games.
