Special Olympics Wake County will host the 18th Annual Multi-State Aquatics Invitational March 22-23, 2013 in Raleigh, NC. Special Olympics programs from North Carolina, Pennslyvania, Virgina, Ohio, and Florida have all competed at the meet. For more information about this event, you may contact Zac Fagan.

Friday, March 22
7:00pm-9:30pm – Check in and Victory Dance at Cary Academy- 1500 N. Harrison Dr Cary NC 27713. Non-swimmers will be allowed to attend foo a $5 cover and that money will be going to the SRS program scholarship fund.

Meet Information
Competition will take place at the Pullen Aquatics Center located at 410 Ashe Av. 27606 Raleigh, NC. Pullen Aquatics Center is an indoor competition pool with a maximum depth of 14 feet. Competition will take place in eight lanes with a distance of 25 yards, separated from the warm-up lanes by a bulkhead. The walk will take place in the shallow end of the pool (at a depth of 4′). Diving blocks and touch pads will not be used, and a semi-automatic timing system will be in place. A minimum of three lanes will be available for continuous warm-up and warm-down. Spectators and coaches without deck passes will not be allowed on the deck.
Awards will be presented after each race. Swimmers will be escorted from the pool to the awards area, then back to their delegation’s assigned seating.

Order of Events
Registration and payment are due by 5pm on February 19th , 2013 to Zac Fagan via email or fax and is on a first come, first served basis. The maximum number of athletes allowed in these Games is 225, and programs have been turned away in the past. There is a $10 registration fee per person; please make checks payable to Special Olympics Wake County and mail them to:

Please remember that all heads of delegation/coaches must bring current athlete participation forms (medicals) and consent forms with them to the event. This information will be checked at the dance on Friday night or at check-in on Saturday morning. Athletes without current information will not be allowed to participate.

Competition
Mandatory Coaches Meeting – 8:45 am at Pullen Aquatics Center
Attendance by at least one coach from each program is mandatory. Valuable information and updates are provided during this meeting.
Dance & Opening Ceremonies
The Victory Dance will be held at Five Points Center for Active Adults, 2000 Noble Rd., Raleigh NC 27608 from 7pm-9:30pm (this is a new location from last year). A brief Opening Ceremonies will be held at Pullen Aquatics Center prior to the competition start.
